QPS Inc. was referred to us as we were struggling to find a contractor that gave us confidence that they could handle our project. Our project was to reinvigorate and modernize our first home, which we’d just bought. This home is over 100 yrs old and we wanted to ensure that the work only added to its beautiful historical charm.
We had identified several things that we wanted to do to our home. See list below.
OUTSIDE:
- reinforce the foundational structure of our detached garage.
- rebuilt the Juliette balcony floor, improved it’s drainage system, and installed custom metal railings to modern code standards.
- rebuilt the wooden hand rail for the outside staircase to modern code standards and painted as if original.
- rebuilt brick front porch steps to even out the step heights and bring to modern code standards
- had custom curved metal railings fabricated and installed on front steps.
- installed gutter guards on all roof gutters.
- installed new chimney caps.
- home is a Georgian style with red face brick on the outside with wooden trim. QPS repointed and regrouted all the face bricks with bright white lime stone. This was a lot of work, but it looks incredible - get so many compliments!
- painted all wooden trim on the exterior.
- installed French drains to improve the drainage in the front of the home.
- installed gas lines outside for BBQ and fire pit.
- reinstalled and fixed the landscaping irrigation system.
INSIDE:
- replaced entire HVAC and air duct system throughout the home. Added an additional vent to the master bedroom and added another return to improve the efficiency of the system. Installed smart thermostat controller for system.
- new air ducts required larger space to run in the walls and QPS made them wider without affecting any of the detailed historical trim thereon - magicians!!
- opened up a wall between the kitchen and breakfast nook and made it look as if it was always like that.
- redid the powder bathroom and installed new toilets in all the bathrooms.
- built two new closets in the master bedroom to replicate the existing ones on the other side of the room to create a “his & hers” set of closets.
- built shelving into all the closets in the bedrooms to modernize them.
- replaced all the insulation in the ceiling.
- built a beautiful fully finished & permitted laundry, and gym in the basement.
- replaced water heater with tankless.
- refinished all the hardwood floors and staircase railing, installed new stair runner on stairs.
- installed new carpets in finished basement den and stairwell.
- closed up all holes in the walls and repainted everything beautifully!!!

Alfredo and his team have been my “go to” for any home renovation projects for the past 4 years. They are very easy to work with and do a great job. If anything is not what I expect , they do whatever it takes to make me happy 😊

Alfredo and team were amazing. They did extensive work on our house replacing windows and resealing due to water damage. They then painted our house. They did a great job.
Since that Alfredo has always been super responsive to when random things have gone wrong with my house. When some water was leaking he found someone same day, same for when a roof was leaking.
Feel lucky to have been recommended to Alfredo and his team. Can’t say enough good things about him!

My house had leaking problems causing wood rotten, molding. The stucco has to be tear down in order to replace the rotten wood. We also want to paint the whole exterior. Such makes it a big project for us. We wished to hire someone who is professional and responsible and we found the right person. Alfredo leading his team did a great job. Alfredo arrange everything smoothly. The team members are professional and caring, step by step. I’m very satisfied with their work. Especially the painting work. QPS is a family owned small business. It’s a pleasure to work with them. Highly recommend.

QPS has done two projects for me in the last year. They are super responsive, stick to the timeline and stand behind their work. They were clear and set expectations well. The teams that came to the house were respectful and friendly. They did not talk over my head and make me feel silly or dumb for asking questions. They kept the worksite clean and safe.
The work was amazing. I have received so many compliments. I will use them again without a doubt!
